This situation is akin to how we might address a Muslim individual who identifies as gay and resides in close proximity to a devout Muslim family: while we may prohibit such individuals from residing within our country or subject them to sanctions, in other nations we may offer them private support and recognition. Let us not feign ignorance of these dynamics. It is high time we recognize our boundaries in relation to these issues and contemplate the appropriate response for a Muslim."
